The appointment

Three Crowns announced on 23 September 2026 that Amani Khalifa will join its DIFC office as a partner from 1 January 2027. The move is announced, but has not taken effect at the date of this edition.

Khalifa joins from Freshfields, where she led the Saudi Arabia disputes practice. Her experience covers major arbitrations in energy, transport, sports and infrastructure. She is qualified in Egypt, England & Wales and New York, and works in Arabic and English.

The firm said the appointment would deepen its construction and infrastructure arbitration capabilities across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. It follows the expansion of its DIFC office.

LAWSEARCH PERSPECTIVE / EDITORIAL ANALYSIS

Why it matters

Regional experience, language capability and familiarity with different legal traditions can materially strengthen an international disputes practice. The appointment illustrates the strategic value of a senior lawyer whose expertise crosses those boundaries.
